Southeast Michigan Fly Fishing Classes and Schools

If you are interested in getting started in fly fishing these Detroit area and Southeast Michigan fly fishing schools and
classes will get you off to a great start in one of the most rewarding and enjoyable sports there are. Whether you’re
your looking to cast to trout or salmon in Michigan’s rivers, fish for bonefish in the Bahamas, or smallmouth bass in a
local lake, we have you covered.
Class and School Options
Casting Classes – $40 per hour

One day classes – Classes are 6hrs long with 4 hours of classroom instruction and 2 hrs of casting practice - $200
per person

Lake St Clair Fly Fishing Classes on the flats boat - This is our most popular class. It includes 8 hours on the flats boat
with 4hrs of instruction followed by 4 hrs of actively fly fishing for pike, smallmouth bass, and pan fish. All basic aspects
of fly fishing will be taught. The fishing will be done on Lake St Clair, but at the end of the day you will be able to
effectively fly fish on lake or stream. - $395.00 per day. Price is good for up to 2 people.

Two day Fly Fishing Schools at Hemlock Hills in Mio Michigan near the AuSable River – Arrive Friday night and spend
the evening relaxing indoors by the fire place or talking about fly fishing by the camp fire. Awake Saturday to a home
made breakfast and partake in 6 hours of fly fishing instruction and casting lessons. After class and dinner you are
free to walk the many private wooded trails, head to the nearby AuSable River to fish, or relax by the fire. Awake
Sunday morning and spend 3hrs with your instructors on the AuSable River fly fishing for trout. All fly fishing
equipment (except fishing waders), lodging, and meals are included in the price. All this for only $295.00 per person.
Classes are held for 3-6 people.
